Give your learners the means to succeed.

With ALDO, your learners practice every morning at 8:00 AM with a 10-minute exercise built from the points covered in class, corrected right away. More practice between sessions, progress you can measure, and better chances on exam day. All with no extra workload for your trainers.

Hello James,

Here is your exercise of the day, prepared from Thursday’s session. Translate into French:

“I need you to send me the documents by Friday, otherwise my application will be incomplete.”

Today’s goal: the subjunctive, covered in class.

Simply reply to this email.

Good luck,
Aldo

Results are won between sessions.

Better results, regular follow-up, measurable progress: your teams know what matters. But preparing and correcting individual exercises takes time your trainers simply don’t have.

  1. Follow-up that’s hard to individualize.

Adapting exercises to each learner’s level takes a considerable amount of time.

  2. Fragile consistency.

Between sessions, practice stops and what was learned fades.

  3. Progress that’s hard to measure.

Without daily practice, it’s hard to know what has truly been mastered before the exam.

Between sessions, French carries on.

ALDO revisits the points covered in class and adapts to each learner’s level, without adding to your trainers’ workload.

  1. In class

    The key points are set.

Vocabulary, grammar, exam goals: ALDO starts from what was covered in the session.

  2. 08:00

    The learner practices.

A short text to translate into French, matched to their level, received by email.

  3. Right away

    The correction follows.

A suggested version, mistakes explained, and a score to track progress.

  4. Week after week

    Progress becomes measurable.

What doesn’t stick comes back, and everyone moves forward at their own pace.

An exercise drawn from the session, corrected right away.

Your answer

« J’ai besoin que vous m’envoyez les documents par vendredi, sinon mon application sera incomplète. »

Suggested version

« J’ai besoin que vous m’envoyiez les documents d’ici vendredi, sinon mon dossier sera incomplet. »

Key points

  1. The subjunctive. “J’ai besoin que” is followed by the subjunctive, so “vous m’envoyez” becomes “vous m’envoyiez”. This was the point covered in Thursday’s session.

  2. The deadline. For a deadline, “by” is not “par”: French says “d’ici vendredi”, or simply “avant vendredi”.

  3. The false friend. In French, an “application” is an app. For a file submitted to an office or a school, French says “dossier”, a masculine word: hence “incomplet”.

Score:

15/20.The meaning is right and the sentence is clear. The subjunctive is almost there.

Tomorrow: the subjunctive will come back after “il faut que”.

Keep it up,
Aldo

The DELF and DALF in sight, for the whole cohort.

Daily practice that complements your classes gradually prepares your learners for exams such as the DELF and DALF*, with structured teaching follow-up.

A pilot phase with a group of learners is being considered before any rollout: let us know in the questionnaire if you’re interested.

* DELF and DALF are official French-language diplomas. ALDO is not affiliated with the bodies that issue them and does not guarantee any result.

Our philosophy

“Technology in the service of people, for more effective learning.”

Technology replaces neither the teacher nor the learner’s effort. It removes friction, keeps learning going between lessons, and multiplies the impact of human connection.

ALDO was born in the classroom. An English trainer for companies and a philosophy student at the Sorbonne, Jade Suzor saw the same thing with every learner: learning doesn’t stop after school, but making progress while working full time is a real challenge. ALDO is the answer: a short, demanding daily ritual that fits into an already full day.

Frequently asked questions

Do your trainers need to change the way they teach?

No. ALDO starts from the points covered in class and extends the lessons between sessions. Trainers stay in charge of the teaching, with as light a workload as possible.

How does ALDO know what was covered in a session?

At the end of the session, the trainer tells ALDO the points covered: vocabulary, grammar, exam goals. ALDO uses them to build the exercises for the following days. Several ways of passing them on are being explored, from quick entry to automatic transfer: tell us in the questionnaire what would suit your trainers best.

How can you track learners’ progress?

Every exercise is corrected and scored. Tracking tools (dashboard, progress reports, summary sheets) are being designed: your answers to the questionnaire help us shape them.

Do learners need to install an app?

No. Everything happens by email. No app to install, no password.

Which levels and programs?

All levels, from A1 to C2 (CEFR): DELF and DALF preparation, French for work, French for daily life or general French for adults.

Can we try ALDO before rolling it out?

A pilot phase with a group of learners is being considered. Let us know in the questionnaire if you’re interested.

When will ALDO be available?

ALDO is opening gradually. People on the waitlist will be the first to hear from us.

What happens to my answers to the questionnaire?

They are used only to build ALDO and to contact you about its launch. They are never sold or shared.

P.S.

Why “Aldo”? For Assisted Learning Delivered Originally. But above all, it’s a first name: the one that came to mind when the project started. We later found out it was also the name of the owner of our favorite trattoria, in Paris’s 18th arrondissement. A place full of heart and generosity, just like we want every ALDO email to be.
